This Book is For You!

Whether you are a student, a stay at home parent, an hourly wage earner or a high-powered executive, Overcoming Overwhelm provides an actionable, step-by-step plan that places control of your life squarely back into your own hands.

This book isn’t a time management system, nor does it offer a litany of coping strategies. It’s not a book on minimalism or how to organize your files. Instead, it gives you a completely new way to think about overwhelm and a plan for dismantling it in four simple steps:

  • Step 1: Find Your True North

Clarify what is truly important to you. Who do you want to be, how do you want to feel, and what do you want your day-to-day life to look like?

  • Step 2: Establish Your Foundation

Identify what roadblocks may get in your way of making the changes that will help you live the life of ease you crave. You'll make a plan to assemble a team that can help you reach your goals and you'll fortify your mindset to prepare for success!

  • Step 3: Take Your Overwhelm Inventory

Determine your unique causes of stress (some obvious, and many that will surprise you) in your physical surroundings, health, habits, relationships, thinking patterns, and more.

  • Step 4: Create and Launch Your Personal Plan

Start making the targeted changes that will help you rid your life of overwhelm and radically improve your well-being on all levels—body, mind, and spirit.

This Book Spoke To Me

"I'll admit it: I've never read a self-help book before this one. And I've certainly never reviewed one. But after an incredibly rough year—quitting a job I loved, making an out of state move while 24 weeks pregnant, downsizing my family's life to fit into two bedrooms of my parent's home to save money while my husband went back to school, and our son starting kindergarten weeks after removing him from all his friends and the only home he had known, and then having my baby...I was a textbook case for being overwhelmed.

This. Book. Spoke to me.

From being told simple things like "you can't fail at self care" (every new mom needs to hear that in their early postpartum days!). To in depth exercises that helped identify uncomfortable truths about myself and why I'm allowing overwhelm to remain in my life (perfectionism and 'discomfort with discomfort' to name a few). I can feel through the pages that Dr. Samantha is a practitioner that truly loves what she does and has found a remarkable way to share her knowledge with the masses (I have to say I'm now hoping to work with her online at some point as well!)

This is a book and resource I know I will be able to come back to time and time again to help me find my True North for my mind and body. It isn't just a lesson for now but one I will utilize for the rest of my life."

Ah-ha moments and Yes! Yes! Yes!

"I just downloaded your book on audible yesterday and I’m already halfway through.

So many ah-ha moments and saying YES so loudly when you repeatedly hit the nail on the head. My family sees me with my AirPods in and they say “oh, she’s listening to that book again, lol!”

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I can’t wait to implement the tools with myself and my clients."

A Life Coach in Book Form

" There is no messaging here that, if you just try harder and hustle more, you, too, can have a perfect, easy, Instagram-worthy life. It's not about creating a life that looks good from the outside, but instead, being better at understanding what we're working toward and making choices that hew closer to our own values. I've spent the past year reading and listening to podcasts about productivity in the hopes of catching up on my ever-growing pile of tasks. This book helped me realize that the actual problem was that my to-do list was packed with things that were more important to others than to me, and that much of what I was doing was the opposite of what I value. I dreaded even looking at my to-do list because it was a reminder of how much I'd said yes to and how out of control things felt, so I ended up avoiding it. By confronting that more directly, I've been able to make changes that are more meaningful than just pushing through all the time.

This book was very practical and realistic. I worked through the exercises, I implemented some changes right away and mapped out others for the future, and most importantly, I realized that the time we need to make things less overwhelming never shows up unless we carve it out. I wish this book had been published a year earlier!!!"
