Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic practice treats the whole person, recognizing
that all aspects of the patient’s health—physical,
emotional, and mental—are inseparably related. For more
about naturopathic philosophy, see About
Naturopathy.
Dr. Brody has a wide variety of treatment methods at her
disposal. This is one of the things that differentiates naturopathic
from allopathic medicine. Treatment plans are tailor made
for the individual and may include any of the following:
Clinical Nutrition
Botanical (Herbal) Medicine and Supplements
Homeopathy
Hydrotherapy
Exercise Therapeutics and Physical Medicine
Stress Management and Counseling
Women's Health Care
Preventive Medicine
Nutritional Shopping
Health Education
Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are licensed physicians. In short,
you can see Dr. Brody for everything from the flu to chronic
pain to menopause. Just like allopathic doctors, NDs in Oregon
refer for lab tests or x-rays, prescribe medications, and
refer to a specialist when necessary. In addition, naturopathic
physicians can treat many conditions that may not respond
well to allopathic medicine such as colds, migraines, irritable
bowel syndrome, and chronic fatigue syndrome.
