Nutritional Counseling
Food can impact the body profoundly. Diet includes numerous
factors: quality of food; quantity of food; the balance of
macro-nutrients (i.e., fats, proteins, carbohydrates); the
balance of micro-nutrients (e.g., selenium, calcium, zinc);
food sensitivities; food allergies or mounting reactions to
foods; and weight goals. Dietary recommendations are based
on genetic predisposition, current state of health, and a
patient’s health goals. In addition, Dr. Brody does
not just suggest a dietary change, but teaches patients how
make any changes (such as shopping,
menu ideas, brand suggestions, etc.).
Dr. Brody can help address nutritional and health deficiencies.
Even mild micro-nutritional deficiencies can create subtle
symptoms of disease. Nutritional deficiencies rob the body
of its own natural resources and can manifest as symptoms
such as fatigue, mood swings, and insomnia. Many times, these
symptoms are taken for granted as natural when they could
be addressed through lifestyle or dietary changes. If left
unaddressed, nutritional deficiencies can ultimately contribute
to chronic diseases such as arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure,
diabetes, or arthritis.
